Blackford Analysis’ MOPED algorithm, originally developed in astrophysics, has lightweight hardware requirements and can be deployed on or next to any imaging platform, on CPU, GPU or FPGA processing units. By processing on the imaging platform, we reduce bandwidth requirements to information transmission rather than raw data.

Blackford is working with several defence companies to develop applications of its technology in the sector, and won the 2009 THALES Scottish Technology Prize for an application involving Improvised Explosive Device detection
