Blackford first platform to offer CINA Head from Avicenna.AI to support emergency room triage for intracranial hemorrhages and large vessel occlusions.
Edinburgh, UK & Paris, FRANCE – September 29, 2020 – Blackford, the centralized medical imaging platform, today announced that it is the first platform provider to offer the CINA Head triage AI solution for neurovascular emergencies from Avicenna.AI. Blackford customers can now benefit from the tool’s automatic detection capabilities for both intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) and large vessel occlusion (LVO) from CT-scan imaging.
Using a combination of deep learning and machine learning technologies, CINA Head is FDA-approved and automatically detects and prioritizes acute ICH and LVO cases within 20 seconds, seamlessly alerting the radiologist within their existing systems and workflow.
“Stroke is a leading cause of death and more than a third of strokes happen either because of LVO or ICH,” said Ben Panter, CEO, Blackford Analysis. “We are excited to be the first platform to offer CINA Head and look forward to providing healthcare facilities with a tool that can identify these pathologies quickly and then highlights the cases that require the most urgent care.”
Fully integrated with existing systems, Blackford Platform simplifies the deployment and management of multiple imaging applications and AI algorithms. New applications can easily be added to the image-processing platform, reducing implementation time, costs, and long-term maintenance.
“Blackford has built a great reputation based on the curation of the best applications on the market, so we are delighted that CINA Head is now available on this platform,” said Cyril Di Grandi, co-founder and CEO, Avicenna.AI. “We are eager to start working with emergency departments and stroke centers to help improve detection, decision-making and patient outcomes.”
