We are looking for a well rounded and experienced Lead Developer or Principal Engineer to take their next step and join our team at our central Edinburgh location, A natural leader and communicator who will head up and provide technical leadership for one of our dedicated and focussed teams of engineers, delivering our next generation platform and product offering.

 

You will work on a number of different projects as the technical leader for one of our empowered agile teams, helping them to thrive and succeed in delivering first class engineering solutions. You will liaise with the wider Blackford organisation; other teams and technical leads, product management, sales and support teams etc. ensuring that our Product Vision becomes reality. Your team will work on Blackford’s own platform roadmap and or bespoke customer development projects based on our platform.

Education and experience requirements:

Essential

  • Software Development or Computer degree with  years commercial experience
  • Object orientated programming design
  • Very strong C#, C++ or Java. ASP.NET Framework/Core
  • Build automation; using version control tools Jenkins, Github, Windows and Linux environment
  • Familiar with agile software development, SCRUM. KANBAN, DevOps, CI, TDD
  • Experience and proven track record in delivering high quality software development projects in a lean product development environment
  • Ca-do attitude – you need to be a solid contributor to all things Blackford
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with external stakeholders and internal team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Desired

  • Knowledge of medical imaging and informatics and associated IT systems is a distinct advantage – DICOM/HL7/FHIR
  • Experience of working within regulatory guidelines such as ISO 13485, 27001
  • Javascript (Vue js and/or React ideally), ASP.NET
  • UI/UX design experience
  • User authentication/ Security/ Encryption Cloud Services (Google, Azure or AWS) Docker
